No one can escape it: eventually the skin will start to show signs of aging. And that applies not only to the skin of the face, but also to that of the décolleté and neck. Like the face, the neck and décolleté are often exposed to sunlight. The skin may become slack and wrinkled, brown and red discolorations may develop and the surface of the skin may feel a bit rough. But don't panic. With (a combination of) different treatments, at NOVO MEDICAL AESTHETICS we can ensure that the skin of your neck and décolleté becomes smoother, tighter and more resilient. And to get your skin soft and even in color again, our skin therapist can draw up a personal treatment plan for you.
- IPL (intense pulsed light) is – just like laser – a form of light therapy. The treatment is perfect if the skin locally contains too much pigment (brown spot), but also has a red color. The light energy from IPL is absorbed by the pigment and red blood cells in the skin and then converted into heat. That heat destroys the pigment that causes the brown spots and the fine red blood vessels that cause the red tint. The skin becomes a nice and even color again.
- If there are only pigment spots, the Aerolase Neo Alexandrite laser is most suitable. This laser light is absorbed by the pigment in the skin and converted into heat, causing the pigment to break down. The pigment spots disappear and that gives the skin a fresh look.
- Sometimes there are only visible blood vessels: telangiectasias (couperosis), hemangiomas (cherry spots, or benign growths of blood vessels) or nevus araneus (spider-shaped blood vessels, which are therefore also called 'spiders').
The blood vessels can be removed quickly and effectively with the Nd:YAG laser. The red blood cells in the blood absorb the energy of the laser light, which is converted into heat. That heat destroys the blood vessels and the body clears them.
For lighter pigment spots and a rough skin structure, a VI PEEL and PRX peeling may be the solution. These are chemical peels that cause the top layer of the skin (which consists of dead skin cells) to flake off and lighten pigment. The pigment spots light up and the skin structure improves. And because collagen production is stimulated, the skin will also become firmer and more resilient.
Microneedling can provide an extra collagen boost. By means of very small needles, the skin is very slightly damaged, which stimulates collagen production and makes fine lines and imperfections fade or disappear.
