Liposuction
Smartlipo is a medical device designed exclusively to perform laser-assisted lipolysis, commonly referred to as laser liposuction. A very thin tube containing the Smartlipo laser fiber is inserted in targeted fatty areas through a small incision. The laser fiber delivers thermal energy directly to fat cells and disrupts the fatty tissue for easy removal. The laser literally melts the fat, which is removed with gentle suction. At the same time, tissue around the area tightens through coagulation, contributing to a smoother shape overall.
Smartlipo laser body contouring is a minimally invasive, laser-assisted lipolysis procedure that targets trouble spots like the abdomen, arms, buttocks, thighs, and neck, and permanently eliminates fat. So if your problem areas won’t respond to exercise and diet, Smartlipo provides dramatic improvements with greater results, minimal downtime, and less pain than traditional liposuction.
- Smartlipo uses local anesthesia to numb only a specific area of the body being treated so you’re awake during the procedure.
- The Smartlipo laser fiber is inserted through a very small tube into your body, the laser ruptures the fat cell membranes and the fat cells are permanently destroyed.
- The liquefied fat is gently suctioned out. Because Smartlipo tightens the skin through coagulation, you don’t have to worry about dimpling and sagging skin.
- Three wavelengths provide targeted treatments to disrupt fat, coagulate blood vessels and stimulate collagen which helps to tighten skin and improve elasticity by 57%.
Smartlipo is performed under local anesthesia. You will be visiting for an in-office procedure that typically lasts 1-2 hours depending on the number of areas to be treated and the size of the areas. Because of the anesthesia, you will not feel pain, rather a sensation comparable to tugging or pressure.
After the procedure you may experience some light bruising and swelling and will be required to wear a compression garment for about a week to help with the healing process and support the areas treated, however, you’ll be able to return to normal activities within a day or two.
For most patients, results are achieved in just one Smartlipo treatment. Results can be seen within a week, with continued improvement over three to six months. Since fat cells are permanently destroyed in the treated area, your results will be long-lasting, however, it is important to maintain a healthy diet and exercise regimen.

Venus Legacy Radiofrequency Treatment

To achieve Venus Legacy skin tightening, our treatments use Multi-Polar Radio Frequency and Pulsed Electro Magnetic Fields to produce heat under the skin’s surface. This process helps to naturally increase collagen and elastin fibers, while also shrinking the volume of fat cells. At the same time, an adjustable pulsed suction (called VariPulse) gently works to pull the skin upward, allowing the energy to travel deeper and providing more comfortable and effective treatment. The Venus Legacy results include a body that looks slimmer and more sculpted and cellulite that almost disappears.
The applicator will slowly get warmer till your skin reaches the needed temperature and stays within that temperature range. But if you do feel it’s too hot, just let the operator know and they can easily lower the temperature a bit. If the technician is using the VariPulse feature, you will also feel a gentle suction on your skin, like a very low-power vacuum, as the applicator moves around the area. This can also be lowered if needed.
Exact treatment times may vary depending on the patient, but a single session typically takes no longer than 30 minutes.
Most patients receive 6-8 treatments per area. The exact number will depend on each individual person and the area being treated.
Just make sure your skin is clean. Do not apply any lotions, creams or makeup before your treatment. Remove all jewelry around the area being treated.
The best candidate is someone who has pockets of cellulite and/or excess body fat that they can’t get rid of with diet and exercise alone, and who doesn’t want surgery. An ideal candidate is also someone who is starting to lose elasticity in their skin and is showing early signs of sagging and wrinkles.
For safety reasons, you may not be able to get this treatment if you have/are:
- Active inflammation and/or infection in the treatment area
- Current or history of cancer
- A degenerative neurologic disease or any other disease around the treatment area that’s stimulated by heat (e.g. herpes)
- An Internal defibrillator/pacemaker
- Metal implants (excluding dental) in the treatment area
- Uncontrolled thyroid gland disorder
- Varicose veins
- Pregnant or are undergoing an IVF procedure
- Skin-related autoimmune diseases
- Silicone implants and/or injections in the area
